Goodell Gardens & Homestead is hosting FSF for a program on viewing forests as holistic ecosystems and exploring our connections to the many services they provide. Details are below. We hope to see you there!
For many of us, when we walk in the forest, we focus mostly on trees, and societally, we emphasize the importance of trees in providing lumber and wood products.
Yet forests are far more than trees and are much more than sources of commercial products. They provide life-giving ecological services and have long been sources of spiritual inspiration.
We will explore ways in which we view forests, assess why forests need to be seen as holistic ecosystems, and examine our connections to the forests around us.
** This program includes a walking tour of the Goodell Gardens & Homestead grounds, please plan accordingly. **
This program will be led by Richard Bowden and Kirk Johnson, Foundation for Sustainable Forests Board Members.
Admission is on a donation basis. Please consider making a donation to Goodell Gardens & Homestead to help support this and similar programs.
