Building community during the “Loving the Land Through Working Forests” weekend

PA Outdoor Corps, Volunteers Work at Northwestern REC Community Forest
September 20, 2024

Thank you to all who came out to Cambridge Springs, PA last weekend for our Loving the Land Through Working Forests conference at the Northwestern REC Community Forest and Friends of the Foundation Dinner at the Kelly Ballroom. We hope you enjoyed the programs, connected with other forest stewards, and learned a few things along the way! Attendees were able to “choose their own adventure” from a slate of programs including woods walks on sustainable forestry and draft horse logging, presentations ranging from legacy planning for conservation to hemlock wooly adelgid treatment, and hands-on nature watercolor painting workshops. The new Northwestern REC Community Forest provided a wonderful backdrop to the conference and it was a pleasure to share with the Cambridge Springs community the many property improvements made by the PA Outdoor Corps and other volunteers in the week prior.

Below are a few of our favorite photos from the dinner and conference. Thank you to all who attended, presented, and supported these impactful events!
